Beyond Standard Trial Designs

In addition to our core pharmaceutical, nutrition and vaccine trial services, EB Medical Research conducts diagnostic studies and provides custom research support to sponsors and fellow research sites whose needs fall outside a standard trial design.

Facility Highlights

Our Almere site is equipped for the operational demands of medical research:

  • Dedicated clinical research rooms for assessments, screenings and post-study follow-up visits
  • On-site ECG and vital signs monitoring equipment
  • 5 dedicated phlebotomy chairs, suitable for high-volume screening days
  • Capable of building study-specific tools when needed, including a self-scheduling website
  • All site staff are trained and certified to ICH GCP E6(R3), and the site holds HACCP certification

Reference Projects

Cancer Biomarker study

An ongoing outcomes study evaluating a triple GIP/GLP-1/glucagon receptor agonist in adults with overweight or obesity and cardiovascular or renal comorbidity. The study is now in year 2 of an expected 5-year duration.

Infant Growth Study

For a global nutrition company, EB Medical Research conducted a study in babies aged 0–2 years, measuring length and weight and capturing photos and video to support the development of an app for accurately tracking growth. The study ran from 16 May 2025 to 5 February 2026, with 26 participants

Supporting Other Research Sites

When a Phase 1 clinical unit’s own site was unavailable during an 18-month renovation (late 2020 – April 2022), EB Medical Research took over all screening for their recruited candidates, 1,800 in total. Dedicated physicians and research assistants were hired specifically for this purpose.

EBMR has also recruited participants on behalf of other CROs and research sites.

    Over time, we have built a database of 4,500 research-interested candidates, collected with their consent. Sponsors sometimes assume a hospital-based site is required to reach their target population, particularly for chronic or comorbid conditions. Our database and outreach reach that same population directly, as demonstrated in the reference project above.
  • Open to Non-Standard Requests
    Not every research need fits a standard trial template. If it involves people and can be linked to research, we’re open to discussing it,  from a new type of assessment to a one-off testing need.
